In the sweltering heat of a 2018 Miami summer, with palms swaying and the scent of salt in the air, a shiny (well, formerly shiny) relic rolled into town — our 1967 Airstream, affectionately named Carpe Diem, had arrived!

Like a seasoned traveler showing its age but still full of stories, Carpe Diem pulled into the driveway with a bit of a creak, a lot of character, and more than a few dings and dents. The exterior? Let’s just say it had patina — weathered aluminum, faded emblems, old bumper stickers from forgotten road trips, and enough grime to write “wash me” in at least three languages.
But beneath the wear, the soul of this beauty was alive and well. Rivets still clung to the curves, the iconic bullet shape beamed retro charm, and the spirit of adventure was unmistakable.
The plan? A full restoration — not just a polish and patch job, but a love letter to vintage design with a healthy dose of Miami flair. We’re talking gleaming panels, fresh seals, updated systems, and eventually, a cozy, modern interior that respects the era but lives in the now.
This was the beginning of a transformation — from roadside antique to road-trip-ready jewel.
Stay tuned as we roll up our sleeves, channel some serious DIY spirit, and bring Carpe Diem back to life, one rivet at a time.
Because life is short — so seize the trailer.
